Librarian of Congress Dr. Carla Hayden has been unjustly fired from her position at the Library of Congress. A highly respected and extremely proficient librarian, she was the first woman and the first African-American to hold the position. She was likely fired because of sexism, racism, and her support of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
According to Rolling Stone, Trump’s takeover attempt of the Library of Congress is dangerous, given that the Library’s sub-agencies provide confidential legal advice to members of Congress and help police misconduct by lawmakers.
Please call your Members of Congress and demand the immediate reinstatement of Dr. Carla Hayden as Librarian of Congress. Also, sign a petition from EveryLibrary objecting to this outrage HERE, and send an email HERE.
